Summary of Functions
As a strategic partner, the HR Specialist will align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HR Specialist will communicate proactively by maintaining a close relationship with their business units and seek integrated HR solutions.  This position will support HR related functions to support business goals and plans focusing on issues of employee compensation (payroll), performance management (evaluation processing), training and development, recruitment and retention, legal compliance, and employee relations.
 
Principle Responsibilities
·Assists in recruitment effort for management and hourly open positions in conjunction with hiring manager, utilizing the most efficient and effective sources.
·Attend recruiting events, job fairs, and company promotional opportunities to build applicant pool and interest.
·Employee relations, including employee complaints, investigations, performance management, etc.
·Assists with periodic evaluation of compensation structure and programs to ensure that it is equitable, effective, and competitive within market.
·Coordinates the creation or evaluation of job descriptions in conjunction with department managers.
·Evaluates, establishes, maintains, and manages training and development needs for assigned business units.
·Stays current with employment and labor laws and HR trends.
 
Qualifications
·Bachelor’s Degree in Business with preferred concentration in Human Resources, Communication, or Pre-Law focus.
·1+ year of experience in business administration or human resources.
·Experience with a company with 300+ employees.
·Industry exposure with manufacturing, production, or related private service organization.
·Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task.
·Ability to learn human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information.
·Improves employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling employees.
 
Physical Requirements
Work is considered low physical work in an office and production setting, requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform low physical work indoors with minimum exposure to dust.
Must be able to:
·Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
·Regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms.
·Will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
·Some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
·Demonstrate the ability to hear and have specific vision abilities to adjust focus, in an environment subject to noise, dust, etc.
·Perform all work safely in a fast-paced work environment.
·The incumbent is located in a quiet office area and is faced with constant phone interactions and will be in contact with other staff.
 

 

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Overtime
