Summary
Responsible for supervising the shipping functions of all outgoing products from the warehouse. Leads and controls activities of company warehouse personnel. Front line supervision is an extremely important function for the company, positive interaction with the employees is critical as this ensures getting work out on time, efficiently, and accurately. Ensures shipping and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss. Retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports. Conducts Warehouse operations in accordance with established procedures and policies and keeps management informed of Warehouse activities. Completes miscellaneous support functions and supports area personnel as required.


Your tasks and responsibilities
 
  • Plans daily work load for outbound operations teams (Picking, Packing, Shipping and Invoicing)
  • Communicates daily work plan to outbound team and shares daily objectives to reinforce individual associate goals
  • Maintains oversight of actual hours consumed for outbound activities against budgeted hours for outbound operations
  • Communicates daily objectives achieved to WH operations leadership via “end of day” report (headcount details (absences, call-ins), orders processed, orders shipped, number of orders backordered, orders picked and packed but missing commitment) and provides status of area against budget “under budget, over budget, or on target” for week and month
  • Communicates expected spikes in order volume to WH operations leadership team and recommends/requests additional temporary labor as required
  • Reviews associate time cards daily and clears all missed punches and time card exceptions
  • Communicates as needed with multiple areas. team to solve issues which will delay the processing of outbound orders
  • Communicates inventory imbalances in primary bin locations to inventory control team for research and resolution
  • Assists inventory control team with controlling “loose item” situations in outbound areas
  • Coordinates with inbound, inventory control and returns teams to optimize labor utilization throughout the work day
  • Records and communicates processing exceptions encountered during daily operations
  • Seeks opportunities to continuously improve knowledge base supporting netsuite and descartes information technology systems
  • Other tasks as needed 
 
Minimum Qualification
  • Must have experience working with warehouse systems (Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Must have three (3) year experiences in a warehouse environment, one (1) in a supervisory role
  • Preferred BA degree or more than 5 years relevant experiences.
  • Must be proficient in at least three of the following Microsoft Suite applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio
  • Experience working in a challenging environment
  • Experience leading a team by inspiring the team to achieve above standard goal
  • Proven background in creating, executing and reviewing plans for successful operations
  • Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment
  • Analytical, and excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Able to work in multicultural environment & shiftwork
