THE POSITION

Responsible for developing and aligning a B2B.com category business strategy to grow the business profitably through a mix of promotional strategy and eCommerce metric optimization. The B2B.com Category Manager will ensure the team is efficient and effective as they develop a best-in-class assortment, deliver competitive pricing that lives up to our brand promise, create a high-converting customer experience and analyze marketplace trends to identify new opportunities for the future. The position will need to create, sustain and leverage senior management-level relationships throughout the Retail, B2B, and broader technology community.


Specific responsibilities include:
•Primary owner of the designated category across our B2B eCommerce division. Responsible for financial performance by managing assortment, pricing, merchandising, and supplier relationships.
•Leading and developing a team of Category Specialists through execution of that strategy and establishing efficient processes, milestones tools, technological innovation for the total department.
•Developing marketing and conversion strategies through the different go-to-market channels, and partnering with operations to ensure strong execution.
•Identify retail trends and synthesize information and partnerships across multiple cross-functional touch points, providing goals, communicating business needs and drive solutions in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional environment.
•Work with product, engineering, marketing, supply chain and to build out categories and deliver an outstanding customer experience
•Build aspirational product stories and marketing assets. Work with site merchandising/marketing partners to generate traffic drivers for distinct customer profiles through category messaging and promotions.
•Manage on-site product presentation and catalog data and drive requirements into the search and browse experience including taxonomy, navigation, and tagging.
•Partner with Marketing teams around category promotions and messaging and with supply chain to forecast and deliver in-stocks.
•Develop new business models to accelerate customer acquisition while growing revenue and gross margin. Ability to reinvent ourselves and secure long-term growth leveraging approaches that will deliver loyal, highly satisfied, actively engaged customers.
•Develop integrated marketing plans and strategic market objectives by channel partner, guide marketing execution and measure execution and return on investment (ROI).
•Create strategic business objectives and category plans, coordinate segment and partner prioritization, ability to set clear goals/timelines for the team to achieve or exceed on revenue and scorecard targets (units sold, revenue), influence assortment and volume builds, and execute against the product lifecycle.
•Influence partners with category subject matter expertise to support the sales motion across the channels. Impact and influence the product business groups and drive cross group collaboration. Influence across internal and external teams to drive alignment and synergies.
•Development of channel strategies including utilization of partners and alliances to create an aggressive go-to-market approach.
•Establish company as the trusted partner to operators and other significant members of the mobility “ecosystem.”
•Develop, direct, and negotiate customer agreements and ensure they are delivered according to plan.
•Contribute to company’s cultural objective to make it “the place to work” in the mobility “ecosystem.”
•Weekly and monthly tracking of category P&Ls to monitor profitability goals and diving deep where needed to drive continuous improvement.
•Process development, operational planning and understanding of comprehensive financial analysis to support forecasting/inventory investments.
•Developing a thorough understanding of the market segment, seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitoring competitor efforts.

THE CANDIDATE

Background & Competencies Required:
•8+ years of experience with 4+ years in category management, product management, and site merchandizing.
•Strong eCommerce experience required. Preferred experience leading categories in large retail eCommerce organizations.
•Experience working with marketing to drive customer trial and repeat. Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and transformation
•Experience in developing the right assortment, utilizing consumer usage, attitudes, needs and wants for product development direction.
•Experience managing a P&L including analyzing cost drivers and working with supply chain to drive cost out of the P&L.
•Strong background using data to determine customer behaviors.
•Proactive individual that is a self-starter and takes initiative.
•Marketing/Business Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred.
•High bias for action with a passion to execute the “right” results.
