Warehouse General Manager Job Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of the company’s area field operations, doing so in a manner that meets and exceeds annual and long term financial objectives, and supports the company’s strategic positioning and cultural values. Also provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services; supervising staff.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Customer interfacing to assure service and growth to existing customers in addition to response and acquisition of new business for the Company.
  • The selection, hiring, training, scheduling, performance measuring of personnel. Training and performance measurements will be based on general and specific customer requirements, including but not limited to customer-specified on time and operational performance requirements.
  • Upholding and promoting a positive workplace and professional company culture.
  • Complying with and documenting compliance to all relevant DOT and OSHA regulations. This applies to all warehouse facilities, vehicles, and drivers.
  • The development, deployment and measurement of routing optimization and Standard Operating Procedures that allows the company to efficiently and safely deliver on the company promise to the customer.
  • The training and deployment of operational technologies that will enhance overall performance, including but not limited to the use of wireless mobile devices, and/or other web-based products.
  • Managing operating expenses in such a way as to maximize customer satisfaction while meeting and exceeding corporate and regional profitability goals.
  • Hands on management – active participation in working directly with drivers/staff at all levels. Able to lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Establish and promote a strong, integrated and cooperative relationship among all company departments such that new account start-up, customer changes and company efficiency initiatives are deployed with minimal to no impact to other customers or operational efficiencies – high attention to detail. Promote an environment of continuous improvement such that operational costs are minimized while operational effectiveness is maximized. Provide regular, active counsel on competitive and operational matters to the company’s President and Leadership team in order to ensure that our values are upheld and our business continues to profitably grow. Complete special projects as assigned by the company’s members of the senior Leadership Team & President
  • Perform other duties of projects assigned by the company senior management, president or its officer.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Warehouse Manager Skills and Qualifications:
Supervision, Developing Budgets, Safety Management, Developing Standards, Managing Processes, Surveillance Skills, Inventory Control, Reporting Skills, Analyzing Information , Equipment Maintenance, Judgment
Four (4) year degree or equivalent experience. 10 years related experience in the transportation industry preferred.
  • Logistics Management: 3 year (Preferred)
  • Warehouse Management: 10 year (Preferred)
  • Business Management: 3 years (Required)
  • Korean bililngual is a plus
